My praises haven't worked. And now?

por Felipe Dib

Hello, my friend! How are you? If you're out of time or "in a rush", go to the last paragraph of this text for a fast answer.

In times of immediate responses and connection 24 hours a day, talking about long-term transformation is a risk! But… we believe you can (and must!) dream big, and make a daily effort to get better every day. This is our mission - seeing you speaking English and being a Leader wherever you go. "The 5 Essential People Skills" was written by Dale Carnegie and its goal is to improve your people skills. In other words, to improve your relationships at work and at home.

You've followed the 5 steps from our last class and they haven't worked well. Maybe it's time to make changes in this relationship. "Sometimes you need to walk away from a relationship that has become overwhelmingly toxic", says Dale Carnegie. The question is, how will we do it?

"If you're worried about how a meeting may turn out, it might be a good idea to meet in a neutral location off-site rather than in the boss's office or a conference room. Sometimes it means moving the meeting from right after lunch to first thing in the morning, when clearer heads might prevail", explains the author.

Walk away from unproductive relationships. Your most valuable asset is your time, my friend. Spending this precious gift with things that haven't showed a positive perspective is counterproductive. Be prepared to move on, and do it. When was the last time you had a hard conversation? How did you feel after it? Comment here and see you next class!
