The verb BE.(o verbo SER/ESTAR)

In the past: WAS/WERE.(no passado: ERA/ESTAVA)

I WAS here last night.(eu ESTAVA aqui noite passada)

We WERE talking in English.(nós ESTÁVAMOS falando em inglês)

Ok, but the participle(ok, mas o particípio)

for verb BE is: BEEN.(para o verbo SER/ESTAR é: SIDO/ESTADO)

We've BEEN here(nós temos ESTADO aqui)

for a long time.(por um longo tempo)

You've BEEN watching our classes(nós temos ESTADO assistindo nossas aulas)

lately.(ultimamente)

Now the verb GO.(agora o verbo IR)

In the past: WENT.(no passado: FOI)
