What's the best time to develop my Leadership?

por Felipe Dib

Hello, my friend! How are you? If you're out of time or "in a rush", go to the last paragraph of this text for a fast answer.

In times of immediate responses and connection 24 hours a day, talking about long-term transformation is a risk! But… at Você Aprende Agora we believe you can (and must!) dream big, and make a daily effort to get better every day. This is our mission - seeing you speaking English and being a Leader wherever you go. "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership" was written by John Maxwell in 1998, and its goal is to improve your skills as a Leader.

Last classes we talked about the Law of the Lid (1) and the Law of Influence (2). Today we keep going with the third one: the Law of Process. John Maxwell explains the importance of following a process and being consistent in life. He says that the secret of our success in found in our daily agenda. Seriously?

Yes. Our daily agenda shows our priorities, passion, abilities, relationships, attitude, discipline, vision… and builds the life we want for tomorrow. If who we are now is the result of the things we've done in the past, the things we're doing now are the ones that shape our future.

"The goal each day must be to get a little better, to build on the previous day's progress. The problem is that most people overestimate the importance of events and underestimate the power of processes". The author is explaining here the relevance of consistency in our lives.

Maxwell says boxing is a good analogy for leadership development. "Boxing is all about daily preparation. Even a person with natural talent has to prepare and train to become successful". He says champions don't become champions after the competitions - they're just recognized there.

Every single day is the time to develop your leadership. Daily, better said. I know you have the potential, but you can't accomplish anything overnight. It requires perseverance and you can't run if you haven't started walking. Welcome to the Law of Process and comment here what are your plans for today, this week and this month. I'm happy to see you here, my friend. See you next class!
