You always do it. You ___.

por Felipe Dib

Hello, my friend! How are you? If you're out of time or "in a rush", go to the last paragraph of this text for a fast answer.

In times of immediate responses and connection 24 hours a day, talking about long-term transformation is a risk! But… at Você Aprende Agora we believe you can (and must!) dream big, and make a daily effort to get better every day. This is our mission - seeing you speaking English and being a Leader wherever you go. "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership" was written by John Maxwell in 1998, and its goal is to improve your skills as a Leader.

Last classes we talked about the first 6 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership:

1- Law of the Lid;

2- Law of Influence;

3- Law of Process;

4- Law of Navigation;

5- Law of Addition;

6- Law of Solid Ground.

Who do we follow? We follow people who are stronger than us, and that's exactly what John Maxwell talks about in this chapter: the Law of Respect. To gain other people's respect, Maxwell recommends us to pay attention in 6 areas:

1- Natural leadership ability: we must use our strengths in our favor.

2- Respect for others: by respecting people we gain their respect.

3- Courage: good leaders do what's right, even at the risk of failure.

4- Success: successful people are attractive.

5- Loyalty: we must stick with the team until the job is done.

6- Value added to others: yes, my friend. This is the most important one. Improve people's lives.

Follow the ones who are stronger than you. Work hard to grow, my friend. Maxwell says "there is always room to grow, and the more you grow, the better the people you will attract". Take the 6 areas we mentioned above and rate yourself. Comment here an episode of your life that made you someone stronger than before. We want you to be a reference for people, my friend. See you next class!
