Growing up, there were four people in my immediate family (crescendo, tinha quatro pessoas na minha família imediata). Me, my parents, and my younger brother (eu, meus pais e meu irmão mais novo). My parents wanted us to spend time as a family, so we used to eat dinner at home together several times a week (meus pais queriam que nós passássemos tempo como uma família, então nós costumávamos jantar em casa juntos muitas vezes por semana). But there was a problem (mas tinha um problema). My parents both worked full-time and didn't usually feel like cooking when they came home at night (meus pais ambos trabalhavam o dia todo e não queriam cozinhar quando voltavam pra casa a noite). So we thought of a solution (então nós pensamos em uma solução). My whole family would plan the next week's meals and go shopping for food on the weekend (minha família inteira planejava as refeições da próxima semana e ia fazer as compras de comida no fim de semana). Then I would cook dinner for the family a couple of times a week (daí eu cozinhava o jantar para a família algumas vezes por semana). When we started this new policy, my cooking was really simple (quando nós começamos essa nova regra, meus pratos eram muito simples).
